CBD Is About to Get Green Light Throughout the Free World

curated by Glen Brink, CBD-Blog

CBD products are about to get a green light from one of international politics’ most powerful organizations. And it should pay the way for full cannabis legalization in short order.

We talk a lot about cannabis policy here at Cannabis Profits Daily and at The National Institute for Cannabis Investors in general.

That’s because we’re in a place in the overall story of the cannabis industry where legalization and normalization are starting to occur at a fast pace. And when policy changes sweep aside outdated cannabis prohibitions, the markets for cannabis products – and revenues for cannabis companies – move from having potential to actually happening.

So far, cannabis investors like us have had to live with piecemeal changes to policy. Whether allowing for medical or recreational use, by state or the entire country, the progress is fast and unstoppable. They’re all helpful – and lucrative – but not comprehensive.

For instance, as we have talked about several times, policy in California can change by county and even city by city – which is actually a huge opportunity for one well-positioned cannabis company that is already putting up huge gains in The Cannabis IPO Insider‘s members-only stock portfolio since it went public.

But in just a couple months, a decision by the world’s largest multi-national organization will set the stage for rapidly opening of a global marketplace for CBD (cannabidiol) – a cannabis compound with powerful, and profitable, applications to health and wellness that lacks any psychoactive effect.

This is the gamechanger I have my eye one right now…

United Nations Set To Blast Open Global CBD Market

The policy of the World Health Organization (WHO), a branch of the United Nations, has been one of the biggest remaining obstacles that prevented the formation of a truly global market for cannabis products.

But in recent months, the WHO Director-General Tedros Abhanom Ghebreyesus told United Nations  (U.N.) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in a letter that pure CBD should not be scheduled within the International Drug Control Conventions.

As a result, the U.N. will decide on the WHO’s recommendation to deschedule CBD.  This means that, in the eyes of the U.N., CBD becomes legal as a natural supplement. It will be no more taboo than fish oil, for example. And it’s not just CBD derived from hemp.  The policy recommendation refers to CBD extracted from any cannabis plant.

The improved clarity around the legal status of CBD from the U.N. will create a significant increase in demand for CBD products. This makes the already impressive potential market for CBD enormous.

I’m going to be frank with you. The astronomical profits we’ve seen in cannabis so far are just the warm-up act. 2019 is gearing up to be another landmark year for the cannabis market. In fact, compared to 2018, 2017, or any other year, cannabis is expected to create wealth at an unbelievable speed in the New Year. And if you click here, we can help put a team of experts – who’ve made real money in this industry – by your side to help you become a millionaire this year from cannabis.

Here at the Institute, we expect this market to be far larger than the market for products that include THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the compound found in cannabis that gets you high in addition to having incredibly effective medical applications.

In 2019, we expect the health and wellness market for CBD products in the United States alone to exceed $2.4 billion in revenues – a four-fold increase over last year’s sales. And there are another 7.3 billion people on the planet, most of whom live in countries that are members of the U.N.

There are 193 countries that are part of the U.N., and while each country passes its own laws, the treaties they have signed with the U.N. obligate them, in theory, to follow the U.N. The WHO’s new policy will not obligate countries to legalize CBD, but some countries which were hesitant to legalize it because of the old policy will now be free to act.

This change in U.N. policy sets the stage for a rapid change in cannabis policies of countries around the world.

WHO Clearing the Way for All Cannabis Products

That same letter also informed the U.N. that the WHO will proceed with a critical review of:

  • The cannabis plant and resin.
  • Extracts and tinctures of cannabis.
  • Delta-9-THC, the primary psychoactive compound of cannabis plants.
  • Isomers of THC.

Because of this critical review, we would not be surprised for the WHO to follow-up with a recommendation to reschedule THC as soon as next year.  With each decision, the dominoes will fall as countries rush to this emerging, highly lucrative industry.

This will also continue to draw out more capital and create so much more opportunity for small, private companies to grow exponentially and go public.

Opportunities in the cannabis market already move fast, and a WHO approval of any kind will only accelerate the trend. And the Institute will be here through it all to give our members access to the research, tools, and education needed to take advantage of this historic growth.

Thanks for being an important part of the National Institute for Cannabis Investors,
